Horsezone's Stallion Service Auction Raises over $40,000 for Flood Victims
The Stallion Service Auction organized by Horsezone.com.au concluded last Friday night with just over $40,000 raised to benefit victims of the recent floods around Australia. This could not have been achieved without the wonderful generousity of studs who donated services to their stunning stallions and tenacity of those who were determined to be the highest bidder on their sire of choice!
Some stiff competition to secure the service to Revelwood Warmblood’s D’Dur, saw the son of Donnerhall the highest priced service at $1,950.
With the cause close to her heart, Cheryl O’Brien of the Lockyer Valley based Remi Stud, donated a service to her Grand Prix dressage stallion Fishermans Friend, which was hotly contested on the last day to fetch $1,865.
The Warmbloods dominated the bidding with Legend of Loxley, Sandrels, Jive Magic, Richmond H, Bluefields Floreno, Regardez Moi, Rafael and Premier des Hayattes all reaching good prices. The other breeds were not forgotten with with keen bidding supporting Riding Pony Aspen Night Gala Way, Friesian Hotse, Thoroughbred Annenkov, Australian Stock Horse Warrenbri Regal, Andalusion Galero XIV and Gypsy Cob Wimballan Harker's Geordie. Most of the stallions listed recieved bids and we hope that these 97 services result in many lovely foals in 2012!
