Uptown, Dream Catcher and Florencio Win First KWPN Stallion Competition
The KWPN Stallion Competition winter circuit kicked off today with its first show in Hengelo, The Netherlands. Winners of the day were the 4-year old Uptown, the 5-year old Dream Catcher and the 6-year old Florencio.
The bay KWPN licensing champion Uptown (Kennedy x Ubis) won at L-level under Hans Peter Minderhoud. Especially Uptown's canter impressed as the stallion received a 9 for this gait. Placing second was the Oldenburg licensed stallion Dutch Dormello (by Dormello) under Willem-Jan Piggen. Under Hans Peter Minderhoud, the dark bay Game Boy (Gribaldi x Pion) placed third, followed by United (Krack C x TCN Partout) and Uphill (Oscar x Apollonios xx).
At M-level, the 2005 Pavo Cup winner Dream Catcher took the lead. This dark bay Oldenburg licensed stallion (by Day Dream x Rubinstein) scored 84 points in total under his owner Mirelle van Kemenade and referred Hans Peter Minderhoud on Tolando to a second place. Minderhoud scored 81.5 points aboard the Krack C x Rubinstein offspring. Kim Leduc and Trento B (Krack C x Ramiro) finished third, followed by Yvonne Copal on Tuschinski (Krack C x Pion).
Double World Champion Florencio, a Westfalian licensed stallion by Florestan x Weltmeyer) reigned supreme at Z-level under his steady rider Hans Peter Minderhoud. With 80.50%, he beat Diederik van Silfhout aboard Special D (Metall x Zandigo) who scored 68.50%. De Havikerwaard's new stable rider Willem-Jan Piggen ranked third aboard the former KWPN reserve licensing champion Playboy (Kennedy x Kaiserstern xx). He was followed by Maaike Lassche on Parcival (Koss x Unitas) and Laurine Brucher on Sumaril (Lancet x Ulft).
