Elite Stallions unveiled the exciting young stallion Galaxico (by Grand Galaxy Win x Samarant x Weltmeyer) at their recent open weekend, who will be standing at their base in Devon this season.

Top Bloodlines on Your Doorstep

With new post Brexit border control measures coming into effect in April, it is currently unclear how easy it will be to import chilled semen this season from Europe.  Elite Stallions are working hard behind the scenes to help find a solution to the border issues, but with the addition of Galaxico to the home team, they have ensured that British breeders have a variety of top bloodlines available on their doorstep to use in the 2024 season.

Galaxico is a magnificent horse; standing at 170cm, he is powerful, yet elegant and has a charisma that fills an arena. He is only a young stallion, but he is already strong and balanced, with a natural self-carriage and ability to move through the gears. His super conformation stands him in good stead, he is very correct and built to do his job, a trait passed down from his stellar bloodlines. In the 2022 Westphalian licensing, Galaxico gave a flawless performance, earning him the title of premium stallion.

Performance Pedigree

Galaxico
His sire, Grand Galaxy Win, was the champion of the Danish licensing in 2014. He placed 8th in the 2015 Pavo Cup and in 2016 finished 7th in the final of the five-year-old World Breeding Championships in Ermelo, finishing on a score of 84.6. He has so far sired fourteen licensed sons, including World Champion and Vice German Champion, Global Player. He also produced the premium stallions Hesselhøj Gnags and Giovanni Bell, along with WCYH bronze medallist, Lennox U.S, and WCYH finalist, Highfive Fuglsang.

Galaxico's dam, is St.Pr.St. Siera. Siera produced the licensed stallion Vivarant by Vivaldi and her daughter, Bella Blue, produced the Oldenburg saddle licensing winner Krokant Star, as well as a licensed son by Global Player. Siera’s sire is the son of Sandro Hit, Samarant. He won silver at the  Hanoverian Championships, having previously secured the Nienburg Riding Horse Prize and as a four-year-old, came sixth at the German Championships. Samarant has produced numerous sport horses himself, as well as through his offspring. He is the dam sire of, among others, Bohemian ridden by Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour who was the European Vice Champion, and Eye Catcher who, under Marie Bauer, was successful in international Junior and Young Rider competitions.

Future in Sport and Breeding

Trainer Anna Ross with Beth on Galaxico and Lorna Wilson
Beth Bainbridge, grand prix Head Rider at Elite Dressage, will be taking over the reins of this fabulous stallion while he is in the UK. Beth watched Galaxico at his licensing in 2022 where she fell in love with him and is thrilled to now get the opportunity to train and compete this talented horse. ‘He gives a tremendous feel and has a fantastic work ethic.  His ability to remain harmonious and supple, whilst demonstrating incredible power in his paces really sets him apart.  It’s going to be an extremely exciting season ahead with him’ says Beth.

This fabulous young stallion has settled into his new home as if he has always been there, already hacking out around the beautiful Devon lanes and enjoying some turnout when the sun peeked out for ten minutes!  This talented stallion is one of a number of top flight breeding stallions joining the Elite Stallions Devon base in GB, ensuring British breeders continue to have local access to some of the world’s best bloodlines.
