British Long List for 2024 European Youth Championships Announced

British Dressage has published the names of the long-listed riders who will be considered for team selection for the 2024 European Youth Championships this summer. 

Following results and progress throughout the winter season, particularly at last weekend's CDI Addington, the British Dressage U21 Selectors released their long lists of riders.

The 2024 European Pony, Children and Junior Championships will be held in Opglabbeek (BEL), the European Young Riders Championships in St. Margarethen (AUT).

Children

  • Ella-Grace Dovey from Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire with Hannah Dovey’s Flaviano (bay stallion, 2008, Florencio I, HANN).
  • Evie Head from Whitchurch, Shropshire with Rob and Nicola Lickley’s Gracia (black mare, 2011, Negro x Don Gregory, KWPN).
  • Annabelle Wesley from Kidderminster, Worcestershire with Trevor Dickens’ Vanir Kamira (bay mare, 2005, Camiro de Haar Z x Dixi, ISH). 

Pony Riders

  • Daisy Bullman from Ely, Cambridgeshire with her own and Eleanor Darling and Andrew Constable’s Godrics Dionysus (bay stallion, 2016, Danger 36 x Donnerwetter).
  • Ella Fraser from Norwich, Norfolk with her own and Rebecca Fraser’s Brouwershaven’s Viceroy (bay gelding, 2009, Jurjen H x Speyksbosch Nelson).
  • Sofia Games from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire with Janet Oliver and Katie Oliver-Games’ Steendieks Cadillac (chestnut gelding, 2011, FS Chambertin, HOLST).
  • Abigail Gray from Banchory, Aberdeenshire with her own George Clooney B.S (grey gelding, 2011, Caesar 171 x Santano, KWPN).
  • Violet Hawkins from Brackley, Northamptonshire with Jayne Turney’s Cruz (chestnut gelding, 2009, Caesar 171).
  • Evie Head from Whitchurch, Shropshire with Lauren Geraghty's WS Jackson (chestnut gelding, 2011, Chiskin Jaguar, AES). 
  • Darcey Blaze Marcus from Godalming, Surrey with Heidi Marcus’s Tackmann’s Dark Deluxe (dun gelding, 2015, D-Day AT x Dornik B) and Heidi Marcus's Ella (grey mare, 2009, Caesar 171).

Junior Riders

  • Mette Dahl from Haywards Heath, West Sussex with Fiona Bigwood’s Fidelio Van Het Bloemenhof (chestnut gelding, 2009, Fidertanz x Jazz, BWP). 
  • Isabella Caldwell from Knutsford, Cheshire, with Katie Caldwell, Sarah Higgins and Pip Higgins’ Don Geniro (chestnut gelding, 2007, Don Kennedy x Giorgione, BHHS).
  • Megan Field from Shipston-on-Stour, Warwickshire with her own Bright Time (chestnut gelding, 2007, Breitling W, OLDBG).
