Krack C, Everdale, Desperado Proclaimed KWPN Keur Stallions

Dutch warmblood breeding stallions Everdale, Desperado, and the late Krack C were proclaimed Keur stallion att the 2024 KWPN Stallion Licensing in 's Hertogenbosch (NED) on Friday 2 February 2024.

Krack C

Krack C received the keur predicate posthumously as he passed away on 9 May 2017. The Van Uytert family jointly owned the foundation stallion with Ad and Annemiek Valk. At the KWPN Stallion Show, breeder Fred Vlaar from Stoeterij Het Centrum in Wijdenes received the orange sash and a standing ovation from the audience.

Krack C received the name Kevin at birth and was by Flemmingh out of the keur preferente, prestation mare Gicara II (by Beaujolais). Under Anky van Grunsven he became a Dutch Grand Prix team horse, competing at the 2002 World Equestrian Games.

Krack C has ten licensed sons (Redford, Trento B, Tuschinski, Tolando, United, Velazquez, Vivaldi, Webster, Zhivago and Dorado) and thirteen licensed grandsons, amongst them the foundation sire Vivaldi. Krack C made his mark even more as a celebrated dam sire.

Everdale

One week after his victory in the World Cup Qualifier in Amsterdam, Everdale (by Lord Leatherdale out of Aliska K. Elite by Negro) has been declared Keur.

Although he was scheduled to appear at the licensing in Den Bosch, Everdale was withdrawn from attending the ceremony, but his rider Lottie Fry, flanked by owners Anne and Gert Jan van Olst, participated in the celebration. 

Everdale is bred by the Kluytmans family from Tilburg. Several of his descendants are successful in the big tour, including Charlotte Dujardin's Imhotep, and he has three approved sons: Inclusive, Inverness and Inspire. Everdale's sport achievements include a bronze team medal at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Desperado

After a period of injury, Desperado returned in public at the KWPN licensing to be celebrated for earning the Keur predicate. Under Emmelie Scholtens the 16-year old black stallion has been a fixture on the Dutch dressage team for many years.  Breeder family Andeweg, together with owner Ad Valk were honoured in the ceremony. 

Desperado (by Vivaldi out of elite preferent prestation mare Sarita (by Havidoff) is successful at the highest level. He has five approved sons with KWPN: James Bond, Jamaica. Dettori, Mowgli V.O.D. and Purple Rain. KWPN Inspector Floor Dröge stated, “Desperado adds a lot of rideability to breeding, he has several offspring at higher level in sport and a relatively high percentage of approved offspring.”
