Stefanie Friess' 2017 Bundeschampionate finalist Brenda AW has passed away. The mare was just 9 years old.

Brenda AW was a Hanoverian mare by Belstaff out of Loona (by Lauries Crusador xx x Wolkenstein II x Golfclub). She was bred by Andreas Weismann.

The mare made her national show debut as a 4-year old in 2015 under owner Stefanie Friess. They qualified for the 2016 Bundeschampionate and were 16th in the consolation finals for 5-year olds.

In 2017 the pair found its stride and won the Bundeschampionate qualifiers in Hamm-Rhynern and Mönchengladbach. At the Finals in Warendorf they were 12th after placing 5th in the preliminary round.

Friess moved the mare up to small tour level in 2018 and the past two years they have been focusing on competing at Prix St Georges level at local shows in Germany.

Brenda AW died unexpectedly three weeks ago. She got cast in the stall. The stress to get back up caused a shock reaction which brought her body into acute failure.
