Bert Rutten will be replacing Jurgen Koschel as the official selector and team trainer of the Spanish horses for the 2020 World Young Horse Championships.

ANCCE, the Spanish PRE studbook, runs the WCYH selection procedure in partnership with the Spanish Equestrian Federation RFHE.

The Ittervoort (NED) based Dutchman, Bert Rutten, is currently the chair of the KWPN Stallion Licensing Committee.

He will take over from German Jurgen Koschel, who served as Spanish WCYH team selector and trainer the past two years. Koschel is currently engaged as trainer of the German eventing team and is too busy in the lead up to the 2020 Olympic Games to combine both roles.

Rutten will assist ANCCE/RFHE in the selection, training and preparation of the Spanish combinations for the 2020 World Young Horse Championships in Verden, Germany, on 5 - 9 August 2020. He will also be the Spanish team trainer in Verden.
