The Horses Riviera Resort in San Giovanni in Marignano near Rimini, Italy, will be welcoming the 2019 European Championships for Children, Juniors, Young Riders and Under 25 Riders on 24 - 28 July 2019.
The Horses Riviera Resort is spread over an area of approximately 120,000 square meters in the rural area of the Conca Valley. The equestrian center of San Giovanni in Marignano (Rimini) has been designed for horses and riders and every detail has been studied starting from this philosophy.
Founded in 2008 by the world leader in the production of luxury yachts, Norberto Ferretti, the equestrian centre is a heart project of Ferretti, who is also the maecenas of rider Marzia Ferretti, an expert in show jumping and always passionate about horses and horse riding.
The Horses Riviera Resort has three arenas, two for competition and one for training. Easy to reach, just 2.7 km from the Cattolica exit on the A14, the Horses Riviera Resort offers exclusive hospitality services as a place to live in all its charm, in a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere, because it has been designed to offer athletes an ideal venue for national and international competitions. The arenas, with covered grandstands and comfortable seats, are made of Toubin Clement French sand, which is particularly elastic. It will provide perfect competition footing even in case of heavy rains: Grand Prix (outdoor), Acquario (indoor), Ariete (outdoor), Gemelli (indoor), Scorpione (outdoors) and Toro (outdoor).
There are 550 permanent boxes available for competing athletes, but its maximum potential is 800 horses per day. The stables are elegant and refined, the competition boxes are of the highest level, interspersed with covered corridors and a self-locking pavement. Design, avant-garde and maximum comfort were the key words that guided the realization of this special "resort" for horses. The center has a large parking area available for cars, vans and campers.
The facility is also equipped with a self-service capable of preparing up to 400 meals a day and of fast, quality catering, able to quickly and locally meet the needs of competitors: the Rivierino, is a new and elegant restaurant, managed by a pool of high level professionals. A corner where hospitality, simplicity and elegant details will accompany you in the tasting of Italian dishes and wines.
The 2019 competitive calendar includes fifteen high level national jumping competitions (A5*), the Italian Show Jumping Championships, the Pony Talent Show with an expected participation of over 500 pairs, the semifinals of the Show Jumping Sports Project, which will see beyond 800 young Italians riders looking for a qualification for the Verona Final.
From 24 to 28 July 2019 the FEI European Youth Dressage Championships will return in Italy, of which the last edition in Italy was organized in the Arezzo Equestrian Center in 2014 by the same Organizing Committee that now also manages the Horses Riviera Resort. The return of the event to Italy is a reward to the italian organizational potential and in particular to the passion of two managers like Riccardo Boricchi and Carlo Bernardini.
The competitive schedule of these 2019 continental championships will be enriched with a CPEDI Para dressage international competition. The implementation of the two simultaneous events is an effort to celebrate the spirit of bringing together able-bodied athletes and Paralympic athletes.
