German WEG team rider Jessica von Bredow-Werndl has added a new horse to her ever-growing string of horses based at her yard in Aubenhausen, Germany.

The new comer to the barn is the 4-year old Hanoverian bred Freddie Mercury. He is by Floriscount out of a Don Crusador dam and bred by Bernhard Sieverding.

"Freddy’s name is not officially registered yet, but we think about naming him Freddie Mercury," Jessica told Eurodressage. "My brother (Benjamin Werndl) and I bought him with our Aubenhausen GbR as a new future prospect."

This is the fifth horse from Sieverding's breeding stable that has found its way to south Germany. Jessica’s sponsor Beatrice Burchler keller owns young Grand Prix horse Ferdinand BB (by Florencio x Landiano) and the 6-year old Franz Joseph BB (by Franziskus x Rascalino) as well as the lesser known 13-year old Florencianer BB (by Florencio x Beau Jolie) and the 7-year old Royal Schocolo BB (by Royal Classic x Furst Heinrich).

Sieverding is also the breeder of Daniel Bachmann Andersen's number one Grand Prix horse, Blue Hors Zepter (by Zack x Wolkentanz II).

Aubenhausen's assistant trainer Raphael Netz will get Freddie started.

"Freddie settled in very well and our rider Raphael will ride and compete him at the first shows at the beginning, as I’m quite busy with all my horses right now," Jessica explained.
