British Olympic medalist Laura Tomlinson-Bechtolsheimer has officially fled the nest and relocated to her own yard, Cranmore Farm, 25 minutes away from the parental house and stable Eastington House in Ampney St Peter, Cirencester, where she grew up and worked from.

The couple already moved house right before Christmas but on 26 February 2019 the main sport horses - Capri Sonne Jr, Fallatijn, Rosalie, and Rose of Bavaria - made the big move to the farm.

"The rest including Lara's main rides come after Lara (Butler-Griffith) has had her baby, so that all our sports horses are at mine," Laura told Eurodressage. "Mixed emotions for us: super excited about my awesome new yard, but very strange not to be home. Luckily my parents have been super cool and supportive."

Laura and her husband of six years, Mark Tomlinson, built their own stable on land owned by the Tomlinson family.

"I built a yard on Tomlinson farm land where a big cow barn was before and we did the old farm house up as our new home," Laura explained. "So Mark is now only a mile from the polo club and his work."

Laura's father and coach Wilfried Bechtolsheimer drove the horses to the new yard. "He's not off the hook yet," Laura joked.

The couple has three children together: Annalisa, Wilfred Simon and Hanni Rose. Mark Tomlinon is a professional polo player.
