Swedish Olympic dressage rider Annica Westerberg has joined the Flyinge education staff as dressage teacher and trainer for the dressage riders, who are getting their degree at the Flyinge state stud.

Westerberg joins two other Olympians who are part of the Flyinge teaching staff: Swedish show jumper Jens Fredericson and Finnish eventer Piia Pantsu.

"It will be extraordinary to work across borders along with the other teachers," Westerberg told Ridsport. "I like working cross borders. I've always done it myself and it's going to be extra fun to work across the borders with the other trainers. I want my students to ride with a feeling and to dare to trust it. I also want to work in a way that the horse always understands what to do, with communication between horse and rider."

The 65-year old Westerberg was member of the Swedish team at the 1990 World Equestrian Games in Stockholm and at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. She rode the Swedish warmblood Taktik (by Chagall). Diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, Annica quit riding seven years ago.
