On 1 September 2018, Urs Schweizer will take up his new position as chief executive officer at Helmut von Fircks' Gestut Nymphenburg in Bad Zwischenahn, Germany.

Schweizer is the former managing director of the Dressage Performance Centre Lodbergen, which is owned by the Swiss Wespe family. Schweizer brought the stud to the foreground by selecting high quality foals and young stallions and turning the stud into a highly successful dressage breeding and training farm. The Swedish team horse Dante Weltino OLD became Lodbergen's flagship.

Schweizer resigned from his post in Lodbergen in 2017 and briefly focused on his own, small private breeding yard "Pferdezucht Kabayo" before accepting Von Fircks' offer to manage Gestut Nymphenburg.

Nymphenburg recently underwent a few changes. Head rider Tessa Frank resigned and was replaced by Leif Hamberger, who left soon after his appointment. Lukas Fischer has now stepped into his shoes as head rider. Urs Schweizer will take over the daily management.
