The 5-year old Future of W and the 6-year old Dalicanto became the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes held at the Rhineland regional championships in Langenfeld, Germany, on Thursday 5 July 2018. 

Patricia Gehre and Breeders Group Werth's Rhinelander mare Future of W (by Furstenball x Windspiel As) bested the field in the 5-year old division with an 8.3 total score. The bay mare got 7.5 for walk, 9 for trot, 8.5 for canter, 8 for submission and 8.5 for general impression. Three combinations tied in second place with an 8.0 total: Nathalia Braun with the Rhinelander mare Amigo (by Antango x Fidertanz), Anna-Christina Abbelen on the Rhinelander gelding Furst for Me (by Furst Piccolo x Don Bedo) and Beatrice Buchwald on Jasmin Trolke's Oldenburg mare Sazou (by Sezuan x Brentano II). 

In the 6-year old division Heiner Schiergen topped the leader board with Alexandra Karasch's Hanoverian stallion Dalicanto (by Dancier x Rotspon). The pair got 7.5 for walk, 8 for trot, 8.5 for canter, submission and general impression to total 8.2. Two combinations tied in second place with 7.6: Stefanie Wittmann on Katrin Seidenstücker's Rhinelander gelding Dolcetto (by Diamo Gold x Stedinger) and Christoph Kleimeyer on Diana Distell-Schubert's Rhinelander gelding Famous (by Furst Piccolo x Don Bedo).
