The 5-year old Daou TB and the 6-year old Quick Step became the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes held at the regional show at Gestut Bonhomme in Werder, Germany, on Friday 22 June 2018.
Ten combinations contested the L-level dressage horse test for 5-year olds and Matthias Rath steered Astrid Futterer and Gestut Schafhof's Oldenburg stallion Daou TB (by Damon Hill x Diamond HIt) to victory with an 8.1. total score. The black stallion earned 8 for walk and canter, 8.5 for trot, 7.5 for submission and 8.5 for general impression. Friederike Hahn and the Mecklemburger bred mare Christabelle (by Christ x Ron William) were the runners-up with 8.0. The black mare got 7.5 for walk, 8.5 for trot, and 8.0 for canter, submission and general impression.
Seven pairs rode the M-level dressage horse test for 6-year olds and Tina Kage topped the board with her own German Sport Horse bred gelding Quick Step (by Quaterback x Paradiesvogel) on 8.0. The dark bay earned 9 for walk, 8 for trot and canter, 7 for submission and 8 for general impression. Pia-Katharina Voigtländer and Jorn Wilhelmus and Sarah Scherwitzki's Oldenburg stallion Renegade (by Rock Forever x Stalypso) were second on 7.7. The dark bay stallion got 8 for walk and trot, and 7.5 for canter, submission and general impression.
