The show organizers of the 2018 CDI-W Kaposvar in Hungary have announced the cancelation of their 2018 show. Kaposvar now joins a huge string of competitions that have been canceled this spring for various reasons.

Kaposvar has always been a well attended Central European League World Cup Qualifier and for 2018 was scheduled to take place on 1 - 3 June 2018.

Alongside a World Cup qualifier, Kaposvar had planned on hosting a 3* tour, as well as Nations Cup for juniors and young riders, classes for ponies and children and young horses.

"We had to cancel the event due to the small number of the competitors (34 horse in 7 categories)," organizer Krisztina Villányi told Eurodressage. "We are really sorry. We would like to make a good show, but with one or two riders in a category it could not be that."

Kaposvar is the sixth show in a short period of time to be canceled. It follows Pompadour, Mallorca (conflict of schedule), Saumur (equine herpes virus), Lipica (equine herpes), and Roosendaal (financial issues).

In 2017 Kaposvar also hosted the European Pony Championships.
