Zucchero and Stormy River Win 2018 Redefin Bundeschampionate Qualifier

The 5-year old Zucchero and the 6-year old Storm River became the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes held at the big national equestrian event at the state stud in Redefin, Germany, on 4 - 6 May 2018. 

Judges Peter Olsson, Ulrike Zobel and Ralph Schmidt officiated in the 5-year old Dressage Horse class and saw a winner in Zucchero (by Zonik x Prince Thatch xx). Under Frederic Wandres this PSI Auction horse Zucchero, which is now owned by the company Star Horses, scored a total of 8.3 and got 8.5 for walk and trot, 8 for canter and submission and 8.5 for general impression.  Portuguese Nuno Palma e Santos landed second place on Barbara Welding's Westfalian stallion Rock 'n Roll Boy (by Rock Forever x Sir Donnerhall) with 8.10. The stallion earned 7.5 for walk, 8.5 for trot and canter, 7.5 for submission and 8.5 for general impression. Frederic Wandres also qualified a second horse for the Bundeschampionate in one day. Aboard Hof Kasselmann's Schokoprinz (by Swarovski x Warkant) he placed third with 8.0.

Cornelia Hinsch, Peter Olsson and Ralph Schmidt sat in the judges' box for the 6-year old dressage horse test. They rewarded Kathleen Keller and the Hanoverian stallion Stormy River (by San Amour x Weltmeyer) the highest score of 8.2. The black stallion got 8.5 for walk, trot, canter, 7 for submission and 8.5 for general impression. Christian Flamm and Richard Wiegert's Oldenburg mare Cecil (by Bordeaux x Alabaster) were the runners-up with 8.1. The dark bay mare earned 8 for walk and canter, 8.5 for trot and 8 for submission and general impression. Susanne Krohn and her Hanoverian stallion Titolas (by Totilas x Stedinger) were third with 8.0.
