The highly prestigious Global Dressage Festival in sunny Wellington, Florida, will have a 2018 edition with cuts made in the allocated prize money. Wellington will be hosting 7 CDI's this winter, of which four are World Cup qualifiers.

Dressage-News reported that the purse for the seven CDI's hosted between January and April 2018 will be 15% lower than in 2017. The site reported that the organizer"changes were made to prize money to balance revenues and expenses."

The most important show on the Wellington calendar is the 5* CDI on 7 - 11 February 2018. Its purse has dropped to $189,000 USD instead of $200,000 in the previous three years.

The Wellington show circuit is still the richest on the international dressage calendar, which attracts some of Europe's wealthiest dressage riders to make camp there in winter.
