Yvonne Losos de Muniz, the first ever rider to represent the Dominican Republic at the equestrian Olympics, has added a new riding star to her stable: Gorklintgaards San Tiago.

Still soaking up the thrill of having represented her country at the 2016 Rio Olympics, the Florida based Losos de Muniz is at the same time turning her head towards the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon, U.S.A. and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the long run.

With two Grand Prix horses to ride - her Rio mount Foco Loco W and her second GP horse Aquamarijn W - Yvonne has decided to acquire a third iron in the fire: the 11-year old Danish warmblood gelding Gorklintgaards San Tiago (by San Remo x Ferro).

Bred by Jørgen Ravn, San Tiago is out of the same dam as Kasey Perry's U.S. Olympic team horse Gorklintgards Dublet.

San Tiego has been previously owned and competed by Nynne Ebbenaes in Denmark. The horse made its show debut in 2011 as a 5-year old and was third in the consolation finals at the 2011 Danish Young Horse Championships that year. Ebbenaes consistently showed the dark bay gelding through the levels up to small tour until 2016. In 2017 the horse did not compete.

"I'm delighted to welcome this new member to the team," said Yvonne, who spent the summer of 2017 training in Spain with Jose Antonio Garcia Mena and Ton de Ridder. "Our plan with him is to keep him at small tour next year since we have the Central American Games in July and they're at that level. He's got a great trot, excellent canter and an outstanding walk. Plus he's beautiful!"

Yvonne is shipping all her horses to Belgium next week for the flight to New York and the trek south to Florida.

"They should be in Florida soon, ready to get in the ring with all my horses," Yvonne added. "I have a busy year with the World Equestrian Games and Central American Games."
