The Trakehner licensed stallion Iskander passed away at age 11. The 2008 Trakehner Stallion Licensing Champion was euthanized at the end of September.

Iskander was born in 2006 and bred by Hans Derlin and was by Le Rouge out of Ira XIII (by Hohenstein x Leonardo x Siegbert).

The stallion was named champion of the 2008 Trakehner Licensing and sold to the Marbach state stud. He did his 30-day stallion test in Marbach in 2009 and scored 8.31 for dressage and7.29 for show jumping to total 8.06 points. In 2010 he did the 70-day testing in Marbach and finished 7th out of 20 participating stallions with 108.44 in total. He got 118.41 for dressage and 96.74 for show jumping.

While based at the Marbach State Stud, rider Irina Oberthur competed the dark bay. He made his show debut in 2010 in the riding horse tests. She took him to M-level and did her last show on him in 2013. Hans-Dieter Mangelsdorf then took over the ride in 2014

Marbach sold Iskander to Dieter Stägemann for 120,000 euro via the 2014 Klosterhof Medingen auction.  Doris Stägemann took him to Prix St Georges level. Their last show was in June 2017 in Werder, where they won the M-level dressage test.

Iskander bred only to a limited amount of mares. He sired two licensed sons, Sarkander and Tudor. Only 33 offspring are registered in Germany for sport with the National equestrian federation.

The cause for his euthanisation has not been released.
