Cafe's Casimir, Top Seller of the 2017 Oldenburg Autumn Elite Auction

The show jumping bred but dressage trained Cafe’s Casimir (by Cafe au lait x Calido x Grannus) became the top selling horse at the 2017 Oldenburg Autumn Elite Auction at the Oldenburg Horse Center in Vechta, Germany, on 30 September 2017.

Riding sport centre Spessart in Linsengericht, Germany, acquired the bay gelding for Belgian born German based Grand Prix rider Carl Cuypyer to ride. The Muller family of Spessart paid 125,000 euro for Cafe's Casimir. Cuypers has found a new sponsor in Müller after his collaboration with the Nolte family of Hofgut Rosenau was ended in May.

The second most expensive horse was Graciella (by Sir Donnerhall I - Welt Hit II - Grundstein), which sold for 110,000 euro to German Sarah Stanuschewski, who is based in Florida, U.S.A.. Marta Kauffman, producer of the hit tv-series Friends, and her rider Jaye Cherry purchased Victoria's Secret (by Van Vivaldi x Don Gregory) for 80,000 euro.

The same price was paid by Germans for Fidermann OLD (by Fidertanz x Baroncelli). Germans also bought Elektra (by Furst Romancier x Don Gregory) for 70,000 euro, Van Victorio BD (by Van Vivaldi x Don Frederico) for 60,000 euro and Denver (by Detroit x Don Duriello) for 55,000 euro.

Americans bought Der Swarovski (by Destano x Swarovski) for 42,000 euro, and Donatello (by Destano x Baroncelli) for 33,000 euro.  Spanish clients bought Selfmade-K (by San Amour x Ehrentusch) for 70,000 euro

The best selling show jumpere was Blue Eye (by Balou de Rouet x Quite Easy), which sold to Germans for 85,000 euro. The second most expensive show jumper was Centarew (by Centadel x Narew xx) which stays in the country for 70,000 Euro.

The most expensive foal in the collection was Vitus Weltino (by Vitalis x Welt Hit II x Noble Roi xx) who is out of the dam of the Grand Prix stallion Dante Weltino. He sold for 60,000 euro to a German client. 

An American customer paid 40,000 euro for Vapiano (by Vitalis x Don Schufro), while U.S team trainer Robert Dover bought Vitalissimo (by Vitalis x Belissimo M) for 11,000 euro. Dante Rubin (by Dante Weltino x Rubin Cortes) and Christ Royal (by Christ x Furst Romancier) both sold to the U.S.A for 10,000 euro. 

22,000 euro was paid by Nancy Holowesko of Crosiadora Farms for Vincero (by Vivaldi x Florencio) and Germans paid the same amount for Cordial (by Cornet Obolensky x Contender). An Austrian paid 17,000 euro for Farrellinger (by Farrell x Stedinger).

Filly Roschade (by For Romance II - Totilas - Florencio I) fetched a price of 40,000 euro and will move to Serbia. Petar Perkovic and David Taylor bought the filly with friends as a joint venture.

A Dutch client acquired Manaslu (by Morricone x Diamond Hit) for 35,000 euro and a German bought Scherbring's Champ (by Sezuan x Diamond Hit) for 32,000 euro.

Americans were on a shopping spree and acquired Elfenromance (by For Romance x Rohdiamant) for 18,000 euro.

Almost half of the riding horses were sold to foreign countries. High quality horses will be off to the USA (7), Sweden (4), Ecuador (1), France (1), Columbia (1), Netherlands (1), Russia (1), Switzerland (1) and Spain (1).

19 of the talented foals of the foal collection will be leaving Germany for the USA (11), Netherlands (2), Switzerland (2), France (1), Austria (1), Serbia (1) and the Czech Republic (1).

The average price of the riding horses at this auction was 39,405 euro, the average price for a foal was 13,885 euro.
