The annus horibilis for the Celle State Stud continues. After the tragic passing of Dancier and Don Crusador, the 24-year old Graf Top had to be euthanized due to health issues.

Graf Top had been struggling the best few days with his blood circulation and was treated with heavy medication. Unfortunately today his health deteriorated so badly, that it was decided to euthanize the stallion. 

Graf Top was the Hanoverian Stallion of the Year 2011. Born in 1993, he was by by Graf Grannus x Calypso II and bred by Alfred Brönnemann.

The dark bay stallion did his stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf and scored 130.51 points. He finished fourth among all competitors of his age-group and earning equally excellent scores for both, dressage and show jumping. He competed against the later successful international jumpers Stakkato and Glenfiddich. Graf Top got licensed after his stallion testing.

While Graf Top was mainly used as a show jumping producer, he also sired several successful dressage horses, including Giorgio Armani (Ulla Salzgeber). Graf Top has 714 offspring registered as sport horse in Germany, three of those have been competed at S-level dressage.
