The 2016 and 2017 European Pony Champion, Lucie-Anouk Baumgurtel, will not be competing at the 2017 German Youth Riders Championships which are scheduled to take place in Aachen, Germany, on 8 - 10 September 2017.

The 13-year old Baumgurtel is currently the measure of all things in international FEI Pony Sport. Aboard her 12-year old Holsteiner bred buckskin Massimiliano (by Monsun N x Cep Cennedy N), Baumgurtel won triple gold at the 2017 European Pony Championships in Kaposvar, Hungary, extending her European title from 2016.

The talented young pony rider was the hot favourite for gold at the Nationals this weekend but won't be competing there. Lucie-Anouk suffers from tonsilitis and has to stay at home.
