Former British Under 25 team rider Alex Hardwick has sold her Grand Prix horse Donauwein as a schoolmaster to Swedish Jessica Nordin.

Donauwein is a 15-year old Hanoverian gelding bred by Martin Schmid. He is by Don Vino out of Brendy (by Brentano II).

Hardwick made her international show debut on the chestnut gelding at young riders level in 2012. They began competing at Under 25 Grand Prix level in 2014 through 2016.

They represented Great Britain at the inaugural 2016 European Under 25 Championships in Hagen and finished fourteenth in the Kur to Music finals. They also competed at the 2016 CDIO-U25 in Aachen one month later. They were ranked 5th on the 2016 FEI Under 25 Riders Ranking.

Alex and Donauwein moved into the senior Grand Prix division in 2017 and showed at two more internationals in Keysoe and Hartpury.

Donauwein will now continue his career under Jessica Nordin, who is based at Vena Dressage Center near Gothenburg, Sweden. The stable has a strong British connection with David Hunt as visiting trainer and Josefine Gyllensward as rider for the team.
