Max-Theurer Does the Double at Home Show 2017 CDI Cappeln

After winning the Grand Prix for Special, Austrian Olympian Victoria Max-Theurer also won the Grand Prix Special at the 2017 CDI Cappeln on Sunday 16 July 2017. Hosted at her mother Sissy-Max-Theurer's German breeding base Gestut Vorwerk, the CDI Cappeln served as an Austrian team selection trial for the European Championships in Gothenburg.

Aboard her top horse Blind Date (by Breitling x Donnerhall), Victoria Max-Theurer scored a winning 74.13 percent.

"An excellent test, but especially Beate's consistent performances, after her longer break from shows, pleases me. She already appears highly focused and in perfect shape during the last six tests in Munich-Riem, Fritzens and here at Stud Vorwerk", said a happy Victoria.

The preparations for the European Championship in Gothenburg/SWE at the end of August have been working out as planned. "However, we are just going to cut down the program again to make sure we maintain Beate’s really remarkable motivation level," Victoria added.

Italian Pia Laus- Schneider and Shadow (by Sandro Hit) ranked second (72.21%). The third place went to Emile Faurie, who works for Hof Kasselmann, with Ullrich Kasselman's Dono di Maggio (70.84%). Austrian Christian Schumach on Picardo (70.35%) and Astrid Neumayer with Rodriguez (70.05%) followed in places four and five.

Wolfgang Himsl completed the success record of family Max-Theurer’s show stable Achleiten. The veterinarian from Austria rode the Vorwerk stud owned stallion Dubrovnik NRW to victory in the Intermediaire I kur to music with 72.36% to their victory. The Luxembourg-based Veronique Henschen and her Ferguson Delux took second place (70.92%).

In the final of the medium tour, an Inter II test, Christoph Koschel was the measure of all things on his nine-year-old Bellantines (by Belissimo M) with 70.76 percent.

 

"We try to improve ourselves from year to year," said show host Sissy Max-Theurer. The Austrian Olympic Games winner of 1980 and show hostess was able to welcome 50 riders from 20 nations with a total of 64 horses at her Stud Vorwerk. "Since we would like to organize a preparation show for the World Equestrian Games, which will be held in  Tryon, USA, next year, we are planning the fifth edition of Dressage Cappeln International from10 - 12 August 2018."
