The Dutch Equestrian Federation and Dutch team trainer Rien van der Schaft have announced the team that will represent The Netherlands at the 2017 FEI Nations' Cup leg in Rotterdam, The Netherlands on 22 - 25 June 2017.

The 2017 CDIO Rotterdam is an observation trial for Dutch team selection for the 2017 European Dressage Championships and normally The Netherlands will field its strongest team at their most important outdoor international of the year. In 2019 Rotterdam will also be hosting the European Championships.

"In Rotterdam a lot of Dutch dressage riders are allowed to start. Four of them will ride the Nations' Cup, the others will compete in the 3*," said Rien van der Schaft. "All combinations ride in front of the same judges' panel so we can compare the performances. This is important as Rotterdam is the first observation trial for the European Championships."

The Dutch team for the CDIO leg includes:

  • Edward Gal - Voice
  • Hans Peter Minderhoud - Johnson
  • Diederik van Silfhout - Four Seasons
  • Madeleine Witte Vrees - Cennin

For the 3* competition the Dutch will be fielding Edward Gal on Zonik, Danielle Heijkoop on Siro, Emmelie Scholtens on Apache, Tommie Visser on Vingino, Jeannette Haazen with Dabanos d'O4, Katja Gevers on Thriller, and Adelinde Cornelissen is also entered, most likely on Aqiedo though the horse's name was not listed.
