Haute Couture, G-Point, Ferdeaux Win Third Dutch Trial for 2017 World Young Horse Championships

2017 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses

The 5-year old Haute Couture, the 6-year old G-Point and the 7-year old Ferdeaux were the winners at the third Dutch team selection trial for the 2017 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses to be held in Ermelo, The Netherlands, the first weekend of August. The third Dutch trial took place in Nieuw en St. Joosland on Saturday 20 May 2017.

Nieuw en St. Joosland hosted the third of four Dutch WCYH qualification events (final one on 28 May in Uden) before the semi finals in Etten Leur on 16 - 17 June. From there a final group will contest the finals on 13 and 15 July 2017 at the Dutch Championships.

In the 5-year old division Dinja van Liere steered Haute Couture (by Connaisseur x Krack C) to a clear victory with 84.20 points, leaving all competition far behind her. Thamar Zweistra was second on Haliego (by Diego) with 77.00, edging out Van Liere on Hilton (by Charmeur) with 76.20 points. 

Marijke van Giesen dominated the 6-year old division aboard Hexagon's G-Point (by Westpoint x Rubiquil x Sultan), bred by Leunis van Lieren. The pair scored a winning 79.80 points and stayed ahead of Spanish Luis Closas Perez on Johan Rockx' Giovanni de la Fazenda (by Don Schufro x Sandro Hit x Burggraaf) with 76.60 points.  Laurens van Lieren and Grandeur A (by Jazz x OO Seven) slotted in third with 74,60 points.

Kirsten Brouwer and the licensed stallion Ferdeaux (by Bordeaux x Ferro x Zonneglans) were at their second show together after Kootwijk and topped the board in Joosland with 78.532 % in the 7-year old category. Carlijn Vaessen and Fossbury (by Ampere x Sandro Hit x Goodtimes) were second with 72,678%, followed by Marijke van Giesen on Hexagons Finomana (by Rubiquil x Jazz x Ferro) with 70,503%.
