What's Happening in the Dressage World?

There has never been anything like it: Andreas Gaballier, Austrian “Volks-Rock'n'Roller” and schlager star, offered a unique guest performance as a part of the program on Friday night 28 April 2017 at CDI Hagen Horses & Dreams, as Austria has been chosen as this year’s partner country.

The Borgberg hill in Hagen has been the location for many events and celebrations at Hof Kasselmann over the last 20 years, some were usual, but this one out did the rest. With perfect style, gelled hair, sunglasses, and the complete package of super hits like “Hulapalu”, „I sing a Liad für di“ and “Verliebt, Verliebt” the 32 year old schlager star heated the fans from around the world. April showers moved through before the Austro-pop opening bands Die3 and Marc Pircher took to the stage, it turned into a beautiful evening, though very cold.

Many Gabalier fans drove for hours to see the show, Kerstin Sachau from Schneverdingen: ”I’ve seen Andreas Gabalier many times in concert already, but here in Hagen it was a completely different experience. Just something different, such a great concert, and on a horse pasture. It was a real goose bumps experience.” Chiara Meier came from the south, Augsburg to be exact: “Amazing! Ist always such an experience to see Andreas Gabalier live, and then in such an unusual location – Just great.”

Before the concert, there was an unconventional job for Andreas Gabalier, he decided to support a young Austrian rider, the 16 year old, Sarah-Denise Fink, in her equestrian sports endeavors. Paul Schockemöhle and Ullrich Kasselmann found the perfect horse, and gave the Chacco Blue daughter to Fink in the course of the competitions at Horses & Dreams meets Austria, but not before changing the name slightly.

“We are excited to offer Sarah this horse to help her further her career, we are looking forward to when the pair will officially represent the “Volks-Rock'n'Roll” in competition,” said Gabalier. Immediately Hulapalu-Chaspara will be in the competition arena with Fink. “Of course I am thrilled, and am so thankful for this amazing chance, and a one of a kind horse. This gives me a huge amount of motivation, and I am going to give my very best with Hulapalu-Chaspara.”
