A full house and a good atmosphere - with this formula the seventh edition of the Spring Breeders Meeting took place at the Dressage Performance Centre in Lodbergen, Germany, on 9 April 2017.

"We are very happy that our stallions mobilize the breeders to come from close and sometimes very far to watch the sires," said a happy Urs Schweizer, the managing director of the Dressage Performance centre.

And there was much to see, especially the young colts Best For Me OLD under Melanie Tewes as well as Finest Selection and Sensation under Lukas Fischer.  These three young stars excellently proved their rideability.

The same counted for the 4-year old black stallion Frascino (by Furst Wilhelm) under Kira Wulferding. He also presented his first crop of foals, which stood out with its modern type and ground covering gaits. The expert audience eagerly rewarded the foals with applause.

"The information of how our stallions inherit is very important. In case of Frascino we are more than happy," said Schweizer.

Frascino already produced the most expensive foal that was sold at the 2017 Westfalian Spring Elite Auction the day before the spring breeders' meeting.  The colt is bred by Paul Voet and sold for 15,000 euro at auction. A Frascino x Desperados colt, bred by Manfred Zimmermann, has been selected for the 62nd Oldenburg Summer Mixed Sales in Vechta on 3 June 2017.

The string of DLZ stallions was completed by double Oldenburg licensing champion and Nurnberger Burgpokal Finalist For Romance I OLD under Kira Wulferding, multiple S-level winner Royal Doruto OLD and Westfalian licensing champion Rock For Me under Lukas Fischer, Bavarian regional champion and Bundeschampionate finalist Dominy,  Trakehner elite stallion candidate Herakles and Oldenburg Licensing Champion and Regional Champion Follow Me OLD, all three under Swedish Therese Nilshagen.

The Grand Prix stallion Uphill traveled from Holland to be part of the Spring Meeting as part of DLZ's collaboration with the Van Norel family's Pretendenthoeve stallion station. Uphill was presented by Femke Beljon. Last but not least, the World Cup jumper Couleur Rubin was led into the arena. He was still as fresh as ever despite his 21 year old age.

After the Spring Breeders' Meeting it is time for the foal shows. Three of them are scheduled at DLZ for April and June. On Monday 24 April 2017 at 14h00 the early Oldenburg OS and OL foal premium day will take place in Lodbergen. On Saturday 17 June the 7th Lodbergen Foal Championship will take place as qualifier for the German Foal Championships in Lienen. The conclusion of the foal show season will be on Thursday 22 June 2017 with an Oldenburg premium foal show. More than 100 foals annually come to Lodbergen to be assessed by the critical foal evaluation committee.

All these foal shows will be streamed live on Clipmyhorse. For more information, visit www.dressurleistungszentrum.de
