2017 World Cup Finals

As expected Steffen Peters has secured the second of two "extra starting places" handed out by the FEI to fill up the starters' lists for the 2017 World Cup Finals in Omaha, Nebraska on 29 March - 2 April 2017.

Steffen will ride Akiko Yamazaki's 10-year old Rhinelander mare Rosamunde (by Rock Forever x Fidermark) in Omaha and join Olympic team mates Laura Graves (Verdades) and Kasey Perry-Glass (Gorklintgards Dublet) as one of three Americans in the Finals on home turf.

Peters was in the running with Spanish Severo Jurado Lopez for that second additional invite, but the Danish based Spaniard declined as he wants to focus on the 2017 European Dressage Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden, in August.

The first of two "extra starting places" was given to the German based Brazilian rider Joao Victor Marcari Oliva who has been competing on the Western European League World Cup circuit this winter. He is ranked 153 on the World Dressage Riders Ranking with his Lusitano Xama dos Pinhais. Marcari Oliva obtained his place based on Article 8 ("Permanently Domiciled Foreign Athletes') of the World Cup rules.

The list of participants for Omaha is now official and complete.
