Fellini Moves to Denmark

The 7-year old licensed Dutch warmblood stallion Fellini (by Ampere x Jazz x Ramiro Z) has moved to Andreas Helgstrand's yard in Denmark three months ago. The dark bay stallion is still owned by Nico Witte and Team Collins-Strijk.

Fellini was the fourth ranked stallion in the premium ring at the 2013 KWPN Stallion Licensing. With 83.5 points he was the second highest scoring horse in the 2013 KWPN Autumn Stallion Performance Testing.

During the 2014 Excellent Dressage Sales Nico Witte sold a share in the ownership of the stallion to Team Collins-Strijk for an auction price of 380,000 euro. Leida began competing the stallion at national level. They were 14th in the 2014 Pavo Cup semi finals and contested the 2014-2015 KWPN Stallion competition qualifiers in Roosendaal, Ermelo and Zuidbroek. In the finals in Den Bosch they finished 8th. Joyce Lenaerts took over the ride in the autumn of 2015.

Because there was little demand for Fellini as a breeding stallion in The Netherlands, Witte and Collins decided to relocate the horse to Denmark with business partner Helgstrand, who co-owns Grand Galaxy Win and Franklin with Witte.

"Andreas already had interest in Fellini a long time. In Holland there was little interest in the stallion for breeding so we decided to take him there," Nico Witte told De Hoefslag. "He has a few good rides on his pay roll and we'll see if they can ride Fellini in the spotlight again or if there is interest in him from Danish breeders."

Fellini only had 10 foals from his first crop, of which the non-licensed Jetlag sold to Helgstrand at the 2017 KWPN Select Sale for 150,000 euro. Fellini is not approved for Danish warmblood breeding. The stallion is now in training with stable jockey Simone Pearce.
