
Danish Olympic team rider Cathrine Dufour has been nominated as one of three Danish athletes for the award "Olympic Hope". The winner will be revealed at the annual Danish sports awards "Sport 2016" broadcast live on Danish television on 7 January 2017.
The Olympic Hope award is sponsored by the Danish fashion company Bestseller and it entails a cach price of 100,000 DKK and clothes sponsorshop valued at 25,000 DKK as a boost on their path to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Bestseller presents the award as part of its Olympic partnership with the Sports Confederation of Denmark. The award is given to a young, promising athlete from Denmark who has a positive attitude and has shown great potential within his/her line of sport.
The three nominated Danish athletes are badminton player Anders Antonson, runner Anna Emilie Möller and dressage rider Cathrine Dufour.
Dufour was the youngest member of the Danish dressage team at the Olympic Games in Rio. She was also the best placed Dane with an individual 13th place in the Kur to Music. 2016 was Cathrine’s first year as a senior rider. As a youth rider she was the double European Young Riders Champion in 2012 and 2013.
