The dark bay Donn Johnson (by Diamond Hit x Johnson) was named Champion of the 2016 Mecklenburger Stallion Licensing held at the state stud Redefin on 11 - 13 November 2016.
The 1.61 m standing champion is bred and owned by the Dutch couple Jeacco and Susanne van Pas, who live in Warlitz, Germany, who also bred last year's reserve champion of the 2015 Mecklenburg licensing. This year's champion sold to Theo Driessen, who sponsors Dutch dressage rider Bart Veeze. He is out of the KWPN mare Boomerang D (by Johnson x Ferro x Ulft), who also produced the licensed stallion Sandokan (by Suprice).
Four dressage bred stallions in total received a premium. The reserve champion was Asanamur (by Ampere out of Perdella (by Lord Sinclair x Alabaster)), owned by Heinrich Ramsbrock.
The third ranked stallion was a Zonik x Diamond Hit x Sandro Song, bred and owned by Paul Schockemohle. He will be standing at stud in Redefin. The fourth ranked premium colt was a De Niro x Sir Donnerhall x Lavauzelle AA, bred by Weihegold's owner Christina Arns-Krogmann.
Horse dealer and stallion rearer Ramsbrock had no less than 9 stallions approved, including the first licensed son by Escolar, bred by C. Kaercher out of a De Koonig x Landsberg dam.
