2016 Slovenian Dressage Championships

Children's rider Martina Prunk, junior rider Zana Vnucec, young rider Ziva Jahr, and senior rider Polona Kalan became the grand champions and winners of the 2016 Slovenian Dressage Championships held at the WW on 9 - 11 September 2016. The riders contesting the Slovenian Championships were organized in small groups from different levels but based on age instead of the level they were competing at.

In the children's division A and L-level riders, aged 12 to 14, were mixed togehter. Martina Prunk topped the board and got the champion's sash on the 10-year old Slovenian bred Weltgoslar (by Weltmeyer x Landos) with a 61.302% and 62.500% score. Ula Kos and the 15-year old Holsteiner Lesoto (by La Zarras x Landos) were the runners-up with 58.646% and 62.333%

In the junior division six riders competed either at L or M level. The scores of those riding at M level weighed more heavily and counted more for the national championship even though their score average might have been lower than those rider at L-level. Zana Vnucec rode at M-level and landed first place on the 14-year old gelding Landrok after scoring 59.737% and 62.125%. The second placed pair Nika Eberlinc Jurkas and the 9-year old Czech warmblood Car (by Calsir x Valat) rode an L and M-level test and scored higher twice (60.650%, 62.292%) but landed second place overall due to the mixed levels. The highest score average came from third placed Anja Rudez on the 17-year old KWPN mare Samantha (by Laptop x Damiro) with 60.581% and 63.208%, but she rode at L-level.

Polona Kalan on Elton At young riders' level only three combinations contested the Nationals. Ziva Jahr took the victory with the 10-year old stalion Vomero (by Otello di San Paoli x Vesuvio) scoring 61.341% and 64.583% in the two rounds. Lucija Strojan and her 16-year old Dutch warmblood Tobias (by Elcaro x Belmondo) were the runners up with 58.984% and 61.375%.

In the senior division there was only one pair competing at Grand Prix level. The others contested at either Intermediaire I level or S-level. The sole Grand Prix rider, Polona Kalan on the 16-year old Westfalian gelding Elton (by Ehrentusch x Philippo) was the automatic champion after scoring 65.674% and 68.625%. Intermediaire I rider Urska Potokar and the 16-year old Oldenburg gelding Aristotilas (by Abanos x Argentan) were the runners-up with 64.167% and 64.625%.
