Judy Dierks and Vicki Newham's chestnut gelding Diamond Star took out the Grand Prix victory at the 2016 CDI-W Sydney on Friday 9 September 2016. The Sydney dressage event features the New South Wales regional dressage championships but the big tour classes were upgraded to World Cup status.
Dierks and the 10-year old Bavarian bred Diamond Star (by (Diamond Hit out of Parole DHonneur) won the Grand Prix with 69.08%. The judges panel' including Mary Seefried (AUS), Olivier Smeets (BEL), Lilo Fore (USA), Sue Hobson (NZL) and Susan Hoevenaars (AUS) put the pair first unanimously.
Heath Ryan and the 12-year old Australian warmblood Utopian Cardinal (by Regardez Mout of of Wynilla Lantana) landed second place with a 67.60%, edging out Brett Parbery on the Farrell family's Aber Hallo (by Amdiou x Rimini) who was third with 66.28%.
Roberta "Robbie" Soster and the 16-year old Hanoverian Robali Razzamatazz (by Rotspon out of Carman) finished fourth with 65.36%.
