The Celle state stud owned Hanoverian licensed breeding stallion Embassy I has passed away. He has been euthanized at the Academic Equine Clinic in Hanover, Germany, on 4 August 2016.

On the weekend of 30-31 July Embassy got suddenly ill and was diagnosed with severe damage to his central nervous system. He was transported to the equine clinic on Thursday 4 August but hardly made it off the trailor. With new prospect for improvement, it was decided in the horse's best interest to put him down.

Embassy was discovered by retired Celle state stud director Burkhard Bade as a foal at his breeder Dr. Bonny-Jasmin Jacobs' yard in 1997. He was by Esudo I out of Sammy Jo (by Silvio I x Calypso II x Wendelin)

He was reared in Hunnesrück and licensed via the stallion performance testing in Adelheidsdorf in 2000. He did the 300-day stallion testing and scored 124.74 points to finish 5th out of 45 participating colts. He scored 111.07 for dressage (14th) and 134.65 (3rd) for show jumping.

Embassy I began his show career in the riding horse classes in 2001 under Ole Köhler, but Joachim Winter quickly took over the ride and jumped him at A-, L- and M-level. The pair did their last show together in January 2006 at L-level at the regional event in Sögel, Germany.

Embassy I sired 656 foals of which 32 mares became State Premium and 12 sons were licensed in Germany. The German Equestrian Federation has 362 offspring registered for sport.  Daughter Estelle won the 2007 Hanoverian Elite Mare Show.

Embassy's most famous offspring in sport is Ingrid Klimke's gold medal winning eventing horse Escada FRH. His most famous dressage offspring is the small tour stallion Edward, which competed on the German team with Charlott Maria Schurmann at the 2013 European Young Riders Championships.
