He got lisened at the 2003 Oldenburg Stallion Licensing in Vechta and did his 30-day performance testing in Neustadt/Dosse in November 2003, scoring 7.69 for dressage and 7.32 for show jumping. In 2005 he did the 100-day testing and scored 118.65 for dressage and 95.56 for show jumping.

Licotus made his debut in the show ring in 2004 under Marcus Busch. In 2005 Anja Wilimzig took over the ride and she took him to S-level. Licotus has 242 offspring registered as sport horse in Germany, 8 of them are competing at S-level. His most famous offspring is Let's Kiss (Paula de Boer) and Licouras (Birgit Hild). He has 6 licensed offspring (Lamarque Levante, Lexicon, Liando, Lico d'Or, Licosto, and Lunatico).

Licotus has now moved to Gut Lonken, where he will continue to stand at stud.

"We will never forget Licotus' idiosyncratic being and neighing," Kathmann explained. "He will always remain a part of us and his numerous offspring here will remind us daily of him."
