The 5-year old Blickfang HC and the 6-year old Fontainebleau became the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes at the regional show in Brunnthal on 26 June 2016. Fourteen horses in total appeared at the starters' line to make it to Warendorf.
German Grand Prix rider Christina Boos and her own Hanoverian gelding Blickfang HC (by Belissimo M x Brentano II) scored a winning 8.1. for the trophy in the 5-year old L-level dressage horse class. The liver chestnut gelding earned 8.5 for walk, and 8 for trot, canter, submission and general impression. Tina von Block and the German Sport Horse stallion Farell (by Furst Wettin x Samba Hit I) were the runners-up with 7.8. The dark bay stallion got 7 for walk, 8 for trot, 8.5 for canter, 7.5 for submission and 8 for general impression.
Tina von Block did make a move for power in the 6-year old division aboard the German Sport Horse stallion Fontainebleau (by Furst Grandios x Drakdream). They won wiht 8.3. Her dark bay stallion got 7.5 for walk, 9 for trot, 8 for canter, and 8.5 for submission and general impression. Ursula Wagner and the Westfalian gelding Lightfire Just Do It (by Lugato x Furst Piccolo) totalled 8.2. The liver chestnut got 9 for walk, 8.5 for trot, 8 for canter, 7.5 for submission and 8 for general impression.
