The Dutch equestrian federation has announced the teams that will represent The Netherlands at the 2016 European Junior and Young Riders Championships in Oliva Nova, Spain, on 19 - 24 July 2016.
Team trainer Tineke Bartels has made her pick based on the performances of the riders at national and international competitions this year.
"With the juniors we have a mix of new comers and experienced riders. In the end it was quite hard to pick a team," said Bartels. "In the last shows several riders rode well and their results were close to each other. With the young riders team there are four riders who all have European Championship experience. With the youth riders it's always hard to estimate the competition, but I certainly see chances for medals, also individually there are absolutely possibilities."
The Dutch teams include:
Junior Riders
- Diana van de Bovenkamp – Corvette
- Esmee Donkers – Zaffier (reserve horse Chaina)
- Lisanne Zoutendijk - Ringo Star
- Febe van Zwambagt – FS Las Vegas
Reserve - Bo Oudhof – Colt Sollenburg
Young Riders:
- Jasmien de Koeyer – Esperanza
- Lotte Meulendijks - Ohio
- Jeanine Nekeman – Vlingh
- Jeanine Nieuwenhuis – TC Athene
Reserve - Thalia Rockx – Verdi de la Fazenda
