Dutch team trainer Johan Rockx has announced the team that will represent The Netherlands at the 2016 CDIO Rotterdam on 23 - 26 June 2016, where Holland's first Olympic selection trial will take place.

Rockx' team selection for Rotterdam left no surprises as he picked the gold medal winning 2015 European Champion team with Adelinde Cornelissen and her 19-year old good old Parzival back on it as Patrick van der Meer has sold his team gold winner Uzzo to a Dutch young rider.

The Dutch team for the 2016 CDIO Rotterdam includes:

  • Hans Peter Minderhoud - Johnson
  • Edward Gal - Undercover
  • Diederik van Silfhout - Arlando
  • Adelinde Cornelissen - Parzival

Rotterdam will be the show debut for Hans Peter Minderhoud's Grand Prix Special bronze winning 14-year old Dutch warmblood stallion Johnson (by Jazz x Flemmingh) who has not been competed since the Europeans ten months ago. Edward Gal will also be competing Undercover again.  The 15-year old Dutch warmblood has only done one show since the 2015 Europeans last August but underwhelmed. At the 2016 CDI Nieuw en St. Joosland a stressed out Undercover refused to do the second piaffe and almost stepped out of the arena. Diederik van Silfhout and his 11-year old Arlando will make their first outdoor show appearance of the season in Rotterdam. They last competed at the 2016 CDI-W 's Hertogenbosch in March.

For the CDI 3* tour the following Dutch riders, who are also vying for an Olympic team spot, have been entered:

  • Madeleine Witte-Vrees - Cennin
  • Diederik van Silfhout - Bonzanjo
  • Marlies van Baalen - Zinidi
  • Hans Peter Minderhoud - Flirt
  • Danielle Heijkoop - Siro
  • Edward Gal - Voice
  • Emmelie Scholtens - Apache
