The dressage selection committee of the German Olympic Equestrian Committee (DOKR) has selected eight riders and horses on the long list for team selection for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The DOKR announced the long list after the Grand Prix at the 2016 German Dressage Championships in Balve, Germany, on Saturday 4 June 2016.
The definite team will be selected at the 2016 CDIO Aachen on 17 July 2016, but the DOKR has already decided on a test-team for the Aachen Nations' cup consisting of Werth (Weihegold), Schneider (Showtime), Bröring-Sprehe (Desperados) and Rothenberger (Cosmo).
The long listed combinations for Rio are:
- Anabel Balkenhol -Dablino FRH
- Kristina Bröring-Sprehe - Desperados FRH
- Fabienne Lütkemeier - D’Agostino FRH
- Sönke Rothenberger - Cosmo
- Hubertus Schmidt - Imperio
- Dorothee Schneider - Showtime
- Jessica von Bredow-Werndl - Unee BB and Zaire BB
- Isabell Werth - Emilio and Weihegold OLD
