Belissaria, Best Seller of the 2016 Verden May Auction

Belissaria became the top selling horse at the 2016 Verden May Auction for Sport Horses and Foals in Verden, Germany, on 7 May 2016. The 4-year old mare sold for 32,000 euro to the U.S.A..

Belissario is by Belissimo M x Embassy I and bred by Casten Cohrs. She sold on the telephone as hunter-jumper to a trainer in the US. The same trainer also purchased Nice to Have (by Now or Never x Mont du Cantal AA) for 20,000 euro.

The second most expensive horse achieved a knock down price of 26,000 euro and moves to France: the 4-year old gelding Ferris (by Furst Romancier x Natiello xx).  The 6-year old jumper gelding Graf Escudo (by Graf Top x Escudo I) sold for 23,000 euro.

The 3-year old mare Feenspross (by Foundation x His Highness) will stay in Germany and was sold for 22,000 euro.

The best selling foal at the auction was Dolomite, a colt by Dimaggio x Sir Donnerhall, which sold for 22,000 euro.  Seven foals sold for more than 10,000 euro.

The chestnut colt Damonti (by Don Olymbrio L x Florestan) sold for 21,000 euro, the bay colt Maximilian (by Morricone x Foundation) switched owners for 15,000 euro, while Dan Brown (by DeLorean x Stedinger) sold for 14,000 euro.

Sixty-five sport horses horses were offered for sale and 60 sold at auction. Twenty-five of them will move abroad of which six will move to Belgium. The average price for a sport horse at this auction was 12,358 euro. The average price for a foal was 5,742 euro.
