The International Dressage Riders Club (IDRC) and International Dressage Trainers Club (IDTC) have reached an agreement to propose a short track system for Grand Prix level riders to become FEI judges.

In order to add more expertise to the judging corpse as well as expand the group of upper level FEI judges, the IDTC and IDRC have agreed on creating a short track system to step into the Education System for FEI Dressage Judges.

"At this point it is an agreement to the principle," IDTC secretary Linda Keenan told Eurodressage, adding "nothing specific yet." IDRC president Kyra Kyrklund confirmed the same: "We just agreed to the principle. How it is going to be done still has to be discussed."

Carina Mayer, FEI Dressage Committee director, told Eurodressage that "the matter will be discussed by the Dressage Committee at one of the upcoming conference calls. We are still in the drafting phase. Both IDTC and IDRC informed the Committee that they would support the introduction of a short track system."

The FEI states that "good education is the basis for good judging. The aim of the FEI Education System is to provide world-wide standards for education and certification of Judges."
