Western European League Pairs for 2016 World Cup Finals Known

Following the ninth and final Western European League world cup qualified in 's Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands, on Saturday 12 March 2016, the FEI has announced the horse and rider combinations which are eligble to compete at the 2016 World Cup Finals in Gothenburg, Sweden on 24 - 27 March 2015.

The eleven highest ranked riders on the Western European League Standing are eligible to compete in Gothenburg.They are:

  • 1.    Isabell Werth GER - 77 points
  • 2.    Hans Peter Minderhoud NED - 70 points
  • 3.    Jessica von Bredow-Werndl GER - 66 points
  • 4.    Patrik Kittel SWE -  65 points
  • 5.    Beatriz Ferrer-Salat ESP -  55 points
  • 6.    Marcela Krinke Susmelj SUI  - 52 points
  • 7.    Agnete Kirk Thinggaard DEN -  51 points
  • 8.    Diederik van Silfhout NED - 50 points
  • 8.    Fabienne Lutkemeier GER -  50 points
  • 10.    Edward Gal NED - 49 points
  • 11.    Tinne Vilhelmson Silfven SWE - 45 points

Title defender Charlotte Dujardin has declined from competing Valegro in Gothenburg this year.  Van Silfhout has also announced that he will not go to Sweden as he will focus Arlando on the road to Rio.

Mary Hanna and Umbro are the Pacific League winners and will compete at the 2016 World Cup Finals. Guenter Seidel and Charlotte Jorst will be representing the North American League in Gothenburg.

The definite list of participants for the 2016 World Cup Finals will be soon announced by the FEI.
