British 2011 European Team gold medal winning rider Emile Faurie has received the ride on the Grand Prix level trained Weekend Fun from Ullrich and Bianca Kasselmann.

Weekend Fun is a 15-year old Oldenburg gelding bred by Gerold Meiners and owned by Hof Kasselmann, who took over the horse from Thomas Dunkhorst in 2014. The liver chestnut is by Welt Hit II out of Ekarella (by Rubinstein I).

Weekend Fun is a former PSI Auction horse, having sold at the 2005 PSI Auction. The gelding always remained in training in Hagen and in 2011 he was competed internationally by Bianca Kasselmann.

In 2014 the Oldenburg was shown by Spanish Borja Carrascosa at national Grand Prix level in Germany and got squad listed on the Spanish team. Hof Kasselmann's trainer Insa Hansen competed him at the Ankum Dressage Club events in 2015.

Faurie obtained the ride on Weekend Fun in January 2016 and the pair made its show debut at a national event in Britain on 24 February 2016. The pair won the Grand Prix with 73.70%.

"I'd forgotten how amazing that feeling is when you ride a great horse through a mistake free Grand Prix," said Faurie. "Weekend Fun was just awesome today in our first Grand Prix to win with 73.7% Thank you Ulli and Bianca Kasselman and my great team at home."

Faurie last competed at international Grand Prix level in 2014 aboard Topolino, which has moved on this his student, Taiwanese Vivian Chang. With Elmegardens Marquis, he represented Great Britain at the 2011 European Championships and won team gold.
