The CDI's in Can Alzina near Barcelona and Pompadour have been cancelled for the 2016.  Financial issues, license permits and time constraints are the reasons for the cancellation of both international dressage events.

The CDI Barcelona, also known as the Barcelona Dressage Tour, has been taking place annually at the Elias-Collins-Vila family property in Can Alzina since 2014. The 2016 edition was originally scheduled for 29 March - 3 April 2016, but will not be taking place.

"We were not planning to have the show at our place this year, as we are still working together with the local government for licensing," Annabelle Collins told Eurodressage. "In 2017 we are planning to be back on parade. We should have everything in place by then to have a top show again. We are very sad about this decision and we do think back with great joy; both years 2014 and 2015 were amazing competitions. Wwe had a great time and such support from all our rider friends. We will be back in 2017 no doubt."

Federico Padrón, Director of Operations for show organizer Topiberian stated, “the show will be on hold only! We are already planning and working at this time of the year for the next edition. We have been working hard to make it happen again but bueaurocracy does take it´s time. In mutual agreement with the families Elias - Collins - Vila therefor we have decided to take a break and relaunch in 2017 when we will be perfectly prepared to pick up and get back on stage.”

Show organizers Top Iberian is working hard to find a replacement event in the Barcelona area on the scheduled dates for 29 March - 3 April 2016, named "Barcelona Horse Show." The venue might even be on Barcelona beach, but that is not yet confirmed.

The 2016 CDI Pompadour, which has been a long-time fixture on the international calendar as one of the top CDI events in France, was scheduled for 1 - 3 July 2016.

"The difficult economic situation and the budgetary constraints imposed by the organisation of an event like this forced us to drop this marvellous competition," said the Pompadour organization.
