The fifteen riders which have qualified for the 2016 Piaff Forderpreis, the German Under 15 Grand Prix show circuit, are known. Twenty-seven combinations gathered in Warendorf, Germany, on 23 - 24 January 2016 for a training seminar, followed by a Grand Prix competition test. The fifteen highest scoring riders in the test qualified to compete on the 2016 Piaff Forderpreis circuit this spring and summer.
"The participation was again very good and it made us happy to see many new faces," said German Under 25 trainer Jurgen Koschel. "It needs to be that way as at the end of last year many riders were finished with Under 25."
All 27 combinations first rode under supervision of coaches Monica Theodorescu and Jurgen Koschel and then a training's test took place. Each ride was filmed and got commented on by Monica Theodorescu, which the riders could take with them as home work.
The 22-year old Munich based Lisa-Maria Klössinger has made an impressive come back to the top of the German competition field on her 15-year old Holsteiner New Lord (by Newton x Lordship). She aced the test in Warendorf with 73.333%. After winning double silver at the 2014 European Young Riders Championships, Klossinger was forced to take a break. Her horse took a year and a half to rehabilitate from an injury and the pair only rode at three local shows and no internationals in 2015. They returned to the CDI ring in Salzburg in December 2015. Klossinger has also switched coaches and left trainer Ulla Salzgeber who coached her as a young rider.
The second placed pair was Florine Kienbaum on Doktor Schiwago (by Don Frederico x Weltruhm). They scored 72.442%. Kienbaum is no new comer to the Piaff Forderpreis circuit. Last year they finished fifth in the 2015 Finals held in Stuttgart, Germany. Juliette Piotrowski, who is trained by her mom Claudia Haller, landed third place on the Oldenburg bred Sir Diamond (by Sandro Hit) with 81.240%.
The 2016 Piaff Forderpreis show circuit has four qualifiers this year: Wiesbaden (14 - 16 May), the German Championships in Balve (3 - 5 June), Verden (4 - 7 August) and Ising (9 - 11 September). The finals take place in Stuttgart on 16 - 20 November 2016.
