The Swedish equestrian federation has decided to give Under 25 riders their own moment to shine and will be staging the Swedish Under 25 Championships as of 2016.

As of 2016 the FEI will also be staging a European Under 25 Championships and it is only logical that Sweden follows with a national championship at that level.

"It will make the riders more prepared to tackle the senior riders," said Swedish senior team captain Bo Jena.

The Under 25 circuit is open to riders aged 22 to 25. The 2016 Swedish Under 25 Nationals will be held in Stromsholm, where also the Childre, Junior, young riders and senior Championships take place in June.

"It is an important step for these riders to compete against equal opponents. It will encourage them and make them more prepared to tackle the senior division," Jena explained.

Jena will be co-operating with the Swedish Young Riders team captain, Tina Due Boje.
