The 5-year old KWPN licensed breeding stallion Fairytale (by Lord Leatherdale x Negro) has been gelded. The black stallion was the 2013 KWPN Spring Stallion Performance test winner.
Bred by B. Petit in Schilde, Belgium, Fairytale is by Lord Leatherdale out of Aida (by Negro x Don Gregory). He is owned by Dutch stallion keeper Gert-Jan van Olst.
According to a statement published on Van Olst's website, "it was not ideal for Fairytale to combine his breeding duties with sport. Because this black Lord Leatherdale son is a very talented dressage horse, we decided to focus on his sport career."
The black was initially started under saddle by Severo Jurado Lopez and Luke Baber-Davies but in October 2014 Dutch A-team rider Diederik van Silfhout received the ride on the horse. After their first show together in December 2014 the stallion was withdrawn from the KWPN Stallion Competition circuit due to an injury.
