The 2,5 year old black colt Helium (by Millennium x Induc) is a 2015 Trakehner Stallion Licensing candidate in the spotlight. Most aspiring young breeding stallions at the 2015 Trakehner Licensing, which takes place in Neumunster, Germany on 15 - 18 October 2015, share a proven stallion as sire, but few come from such powerful, proven mare lines as licensing candidate nr 23, Helium.

Helium is sired by champion procuder Millennium, the most successful Trakehner breeding stallion in recent years. Millennium sired the 2014 Oldenburg Licensing Champion (Morricone), the 2014 Trakehner Licensing Champion (Sir Sansibar) as well as several premium licensed stallions in Westfalen and South Germany.

Helium's dam line is what makes this young colt truly exceptional. He descendes from one of the most successful Trakehner and Danish warmblood mare line, which goes back to Anglo Arab mare Herb. Her daughter Hertha was Reserve Champion as a 3 and 4-year old at the Danish Elite Mare Championship. Her first offspring Henkel was licensed and did an excellent stallion performance test.

When the Danish brood farm Gadebjerg Stud bought Henna, a young filly out of Hertha, they had no idea the quality mare Henna turned out to be. Henna was a instant hit amongst elite mares in both Trakehners and Danish Warmblood society. Her first filly Hera sold to Grønvang stud and produced the Daish warmblood gold medal premium mare Hertza Grønvang as well as the licensed stallion JJ Zinfandel.

Another offspring, Holly, placed fifth in the Danish Young Horse Championship for 6-year olds and was competed up to Prix St Georges level before she became a top broodmare at Gadebjerg Stud. Her filly Hollywood was awarded the bronze medal in 2015. Henna also produced Hot Pepper, who also qualified for the Danish Young Horse Championship Finals for 6-year olds. Offspring Haley became elite mare after competing on the Danish Young Rider team. Haley's filly Henny became the Schleswig-Holstein Mare Champion as a 3-year old. She sold to Singing Stud in England.

While Holly excelled in the dressage ring, her full sister Hirse, Helium's dam (by Induc x Arsenal x Bergsturl), has exclusively been used as at brood mare and has several promising offspring at Gadebjerg.

Helium has a world class pedigree and is a strong candidate to become licensed at the 2015 Trakehner Stallion Licensing in Neumunster this week. He will also be up for sale at the auction following the licensing if graded.

On Saturday 17 October 2015 the world will know if the Herba mare line has a new stallion to follow in the footsteps of Blue Hors Hertug and Herakles (Dorothee Schneider) among others.
