Renowned Trakehner elite mare Shynoon has passed away at age 31 at her home, Gestut Hörstein.

Until right before her last day the mare was full of life and vitality but suddenly her health deteriorated and had to be euthanized. She had turned 31 on 15 December 2014.

The chestnut Shynoon was by Highnoon out of Scharade II (by Magnet x Marsuk ox x Totilas). She was bred by Gestut Rantzau and acquired by the Diehm family at the 1984 Foal Auction in Neumunster. She spent her entire life at Gestut Hörstein.

Shynoon became the reserve champion at the 1989 Trakehner Mare Championship and won the Mare Performance Test in Medingen. She was later named Elite mare. Shynoon produced 14 foals in total of which seven were premium mares, two state premium mares and one licensed son, Sabary. She had her last foal in 2005. Daughters Serenade (by Habicht, dam to licensed stallion Sky Dancer) and Soiree (by Lehndorff's, dam to three mare show champion and reserve champions) were her most successful ones.
